The Clarius scanner will connect to your smart device by using the scanner's own Wi-Fi Direct network, or using your own secured, password protected local Wi-Fi Network (e.g. your home, clinic, or office Wi-Fi connection).
Note: Wi-Fi Direct mode is recommended if you are in areas of poor or no secured Wi-Fi connection.
Access Settings
- Tap on the 3 horizontal lines on the top left corner to navigate to the main menu.
If you see a leftwards facing arrow, the "back" button, please tap the arrow. This back button will then turn into the 3 horizontal lines, the main menu icon. - Tap on Settings.
Version 8.0 or lower:
- Scroll down to the section labelled Connectivity.
- Ensure that Prefer Wireless LAN is enabled or disabled. Orange is Enabled. Grey is disabled.
When Prefer Wireless LAN is enabled, the Clarius App will connect to the scanner via the wifi network to which the mobile device is connected.
When disabled, the Clarius App will always connect to the Scanner via the scanner's own Wi-Fi Direct.

Version 8.6 and above
- Ensure Advanced Settings is enabled (orange). Grey indicates the option is disabled.
- Once Advanced Settings is Enabled, you may scroll down to the section labelled Connectivity
- Under Connectivity, ensure that the Prefer Wireless LAN option is enabled (orange).
When Prefer Wireless LAN is enabled, the Clarius App will connect to the scanner via the wifi network to which the mobile device is connected.
When disabled, the Clarius App will always connect to the Scanner via the scanner's own Wi-Fi Direct.
Version 8.6 and above - Using Settings Search
You may always access any setting via Settings Search regardless as to whether Advanced Options is enabled or disabled.
- Under Settings in the main menu, a search bar appears. You may begin typing "Prefer Wireless Lan" into this search box. Applicable search results will appear.
- Ensure that the Prefer Wireless LAN option is enabled (orange).
When Prefer Wireless LAN is enabled, the Clarius App will connect to the scanner via the Wi-Fi network to which the mobile device is connected.
When disabled, the Clarius App will always connect to the Scanner via the scanner's own Wi-Fi Direct.
