On Android platforms, when starting the app and selecting the scanner, the Wi-Fi Direct connection (and Wi-Fi network switching if required) should happen automatically. This eliminates the need to go to settings to find and select the scanner's Wi-Fi Direct network.
On iOS platforms, if you are running iOS 11 or newer, switching to the Wi-Fi Direct network will happen automatically, eliminating the need to go to the WiFi settings screen to find and select the scanner's Wi-Fi Direct network. A message will ask if you would like to Join the Wi-Fi Direct network.
The scanner defaults to standby mode when the battery is inserted. You can change this setting to start and set up the scanner Wi-Fi network as soon as the battery is inserted. It saves approximately 8-10 seconds of connection time if the Wi-Fi network from the scanner is already available when the App is started. You can change the scanner's auto boot option at the bottom of the Settings screen. To save power, the scanner will go back to sleep if not connected to an app within 2 minutes.
